Extending the King County Park System into your back yard

An interactive map of the entire park system features Microsoft Windows Live technologies.

The King County Parks system serves the most populous region of Washington state with more than 180 parks on 25,000 acres. Park employees seek to continually improve their Web site to help deliver on their mission of service and stewardship.

iSoftStone worked in cooperation with King County's development staff to build an engaging, community-based experience for park visitors—showcasing an interactive map of the entire park system, using the feature-rich functionality of Microsoft Windows Live technologies.

The resulting site offers visitors several modes of exploration and discovery. It includes simplified identifiers of park locations, pop-up information, and the full range of Microsoft Virtual Earth mapping features, such as aerial photography and bird's eye view to see the parks and locations in proximity to help visitors plan their excursions and take advantage of other park services.
