iSoftStone established the unified client side of Network Video Surveillance to help our client reduce costs and improve operational efficiency.

Situation
Our client is a global leader in providing network equipment and services and worldwide telecommunication solutions, including exchange, transmission, wireless, and telecommunication products. Currently, this client’s products and solutions are being used in more than 100 countries, serving more than one billion users worldwide.

This client needed to unify the client side of its Network Video Surveillance (NVS) business to reduce costs and improve operational efficiency. NVS provides an interface for video surveillance functions, such as real-time browsing, image capture, scene patrols, video recording, motion detection, and much more. This client brought in iSoftStone to create a solution that would provide the proper infrastructure and ensure that NVS would meet required safety standards.

Solution
As a new telecommunications service, NVS required sophisticated iSoftStone engineers to assist in unifying the client interface with the product. The interface interacts with the NVS platform to complete user requests to send and receive response messages through a variety of client-side controls.

The unified client side of NVS is based on JavaScript and C++, and the client can access it through Internet Explorer. iSoftStone organized an experienced technical team familiar with the customer network management platform, and business and CMM process to deploy the product based on the J2EE framework. iSoftStone’s work on this project included:

• Develop the user interface based on JavaScript, and provide a series of control interfaces including real-time browsing, video, and other functions. The design allows the interface to send the user's various requests to the NVS platform through middleware.
• Create ActiveX controls based on C++, and provide a series of interfaces for the unified client-side for processing user requests and sending the results of the platform back to the unified client-side.
• Provide infrastructure in line with ISO27001 certification and the safety standards of the customer.
• Conduct a needs analysis and develop the prototype system.
• Complete system design, development and testing independently, and ensure that the system is checked and accepted by the TR6.

Benefits
With iSoftStone’s NVS solution work for this project, this client can now use the unified client-side of NVS to monitor the platform which allows them to achieve real-time remote video surveillance on broadband networks. In addition, the design provides the client with customized services: the client it can select parts of the equipment portfolio as needed and integrate them with the existing enterprise information system. iSoftStone delivered this project on time with high quality to help the customer reduce costs and improve their operation efficiency. NVS has already gone live locally and has a continually growing user base.
