iCarnegie – iSoftStone Institute for IT Professionals Comes to Wuxi, China

Wuxi Binhu District, iCarnegie and iSoftStone have reached an agreement to jointly found the iCarnegie – iSoftStone Institute for IT Professionals in Wuxi. The signing ceremony was held at Wuxi’s Hubin Hotel on June 15, 2009. Mr. Weize Yang, Member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial CPC Committee, Dr. Mark Kamlet, Carnegie Mellon Provost, Dr. William Leonard Guttman, iCarnegie Chairman of the Board, Gil Taran, iCarnegie Chief Executive Officer, and TW Liu, iSoftStone Chairman & CEO each presented during the ceremony.

iCarnegie is a majority-owned subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, focused on providing world class software development education using Carnegie Mellon University’s curriculum. Carnegie Mellon University was founded in 1900 and ranks as the best in the world in the fields of computer science, software engineering and information technology management.  

With the initiation of this project, iCarnegie is able to further strengthen its partnership network in Asia, and especially in Mainland China. The newly established training institute will help Wuxi to become a major software outsourcing hub in China. With a large technical talent pool trained and certified according to international standards, both MNC clients and China-based IT providers will be compelled to consider Wuxi as a highly favorable location for establishing and growing R&D centers. Furthermore, the increasingly deep talent pool will provide tremendous human capital support for China-based IT providers such as iSoftStone, to better serve important global clients as they increasingly look to China as a major pillar of their global IT and BPO sourcing strategies.
