iSoftStone Support Outsourcing Track at Gartner Symposium/ITXPO 2009
(Nov. 16, 2009)With trends continuing to rise in enterprise outsourcing while proving its methodology as a key lever in productivity and cost efficacy, iSoftstone aligned its sponsorship with this year’s largest and most important industry gatherings of CIOs and senior IT executives at the North America Gartner Symposium/ITxpo held in Orlando, Florida. This year’s program focused on business technology’s impact on the return to growth though cost optimization, risk mitigation and outsourcing trends.
Opening with his reflection on economic turbulence in the past 12 months, Peter Sondergaard, Vice President of Research for Gartner, noted that “Economic research firm, Global Insight, estimates that world GDP growth rates for 2009 will be -2.2% and that figure would be worse if China and India had not managed to maintain positive growth. Gartner also shared that very few IT managers will receive budget increases in 2010 as the “mend and make do” approach used for the past 12 months will continue, yet the expectations and pressure on IT leaders to grow and adapt to meet the needs of the business will continue. This pressure to improve efficiency and productivity will increase dramatically in 2010 with outsourcing a key ingredient in driving improvements.
