Two Key Points of Digital Transformation
The essence of the digital transformation is a series of business strategies. Enterprises choose the suitable digital technology to reconstruct all aspects of the business process, the management mode and the production mode, so as to adapt to new competition situation and gain competitive advantages. Wherein, there are two key points: one is the selection and attention of core business strategy towards the digital transformation process, namely, deal with the digital competition and embrace the digital transformation from the top design of business; the other one is the digital technology selected for different business models and business strategies, namely, implement the early design blueprint through the most appropriate technology.
At the business strategic level, there are five aspects of top concern for the strategy of digital transformation: enterprise leadership, customer experience. Data information, operation and (manpower) resources. In a word, the relationship of these 5 aspects is“having goals, methods and supports”. Having goals is to ultimately achieve the enhancement of overall maturity of customer digital transformation, that is, to realize successful customer digital transformation, and improve customer experience; having methods is to realize process optimization through a series of connections, conduct decision-making guidance by the data generated during connection, and lay a foundation for experience; having supports is not only the high-level strategy and policy support, but also resources support, especially human resources support, so as to guarantee the realization of goals.
After sorting out the 5 core strategies of digital transformation, let's focus on the digital technology itself. Though there are many kinds of digital technologies in the market, to sum up, the core is the “4+6” model proposed by IDC, namely the 4 pillar technologies of the third platform, as well as the 6 innovation accelerators on this basis. Specifically, IDC considers Mainframe is the first platform; PC as well as client/server (C/S structure) are the second platform; the current third platform is mostly represented by the fully emerged cloud computing, big data, social networking as well as mobile technology; meanwhile, the digital transformation of all walks of life (especially traditional industries) is fully supported with the introduction of new technologies such as IoT, AI (cognitive system), virtual/augmented reality, robot, 3D printing as well as next generation security. Based on the above business strategy and the actual situation of enterprises themselves, the selection, landing and implementation of these 10 technologies are the key guarantee for the success of the digital transformation of enterprises.
